I started my fitness journey when I weighed 165 lbs. I struggled to gain weight, so I decided it was time to make a change. Being bullied for being skinny and having no muscle definition made me lack confidence in my life. I went through painful health issues and sleepless nights trying to figure out the blueprint, that's how bad I wanted it. Fitness helped me gain confidence, and pain made me appreciate self-gratitude discipline, and build consistency.
Since I had struggled with being skinny for so long, I needed something that could help me change my body and upgrade my mindset. It was difficult at first. I was doing P90X home workouts and weight training at a gym. I was driven to compete in fitness competitons, and although the results were good, I didn't really start making significant changes until I changed my nutrition habits and stopped drinking and partying.
So, I decided to become an online trainer because I saw fitness more as a lifestyle and less as a habit. My spiritual awakening also played a role in my decision to help people transform their lives through fitness. Throughout the day leading up to your dinner or time to eat out make sure that majority of your food intake is protein. Why? Because protein is the most essential macro when it comes to creating a great body and physique and will also suppress hunger. It’s also important because at most restaurants your protein intake will be unpredictable because you cannot be for certain about the portion sizes. Along with keeping the protein high you will then want to keep your CARBS and FATS low throughout the day because then this will allow you to compensate for a fattier carbier that will probably come from eating out.
This is fairly self explanatory but if you don’t know what your macros are I highly recommend you do so. Macros = Protein, Carbs, & Fats. These make up your total caloric intake By knowing this you will in turn know what your body needs daily to hit your nutritional goals which will in turn determine whether you want to be losing fat, or gaining weight.
Be intentional with you food choices in terms of protein. Meaning when you sit down for a meal make sure you are ordering dishes that are high in protein and low in fat and carbs.
